Wednesday 5th April - walk **** Circuit of Landguard Nature Reserve - sunny
periods.
Another nice spring day, a tad more cloud than yesterday but with light
winds it was very pleasant so did my exercises in the back garden for the
second day in a row while Mag did some pruning, she even managed to cut the
grass with our little mower one handed! As we had to go to Lidl today as
our son from Surrey is coming for Easter we decided to have a walk at one
of our local favourites, Landguard Nature taking a picnic, a flask of yummy
homemade soup:) We parked by the caravans at The Manor and set off in
search of Linnets and were not disappointed and saw loads, always lovely to
see, also loads of bunnies, also the brightly coloured Easter Rabbits have
been put out for youngsters to find and we spotted a few, great idea. We
made a detour past the view point but Felixstowe docks were very quiet with
only two ships in but there was an old white hulled barge heading slowly
out to sea. Mag and I sat by the small concrete gun emplacement by the
wooden jetty with the sun glistening off the River Orwell, so lovely:)
After a restful lunch we continued through the reserve with yet more
linnets and rabbits with a couple of partridges for good measure. Then a
quick spin around Lidl, home for a cuppa and cake, good day, may even be
breezy enough for a foil tomorrow after another visit to the physio for my
knee.
